The fashion world is constantly evolving, and inspiration for designers can come from all walks of life. For Soni Bloo, founder and designer of Flora Rosa, her inspiration comes from something beyond the surface level. Her imaginative pieces are an expression of her creativity and an extension of her soulful existence.
Soni Bloo started Flora Rosa on the floor of her childhood bedroom in 2020 during a global pandemic. What began as a passion project has become a thriving business set to make waves in the fashion industry. Her unique vision and artistic flair have helped her create an outstanding brand.
Using recycled and unique textiles, Soni has managed to breathe new life into old materials. Her designs are not just beautiful but also sustainable. In a world where the fashion industry is known for its wastefulness, Soni is striving to make a difference. Her brand is proof that fashion and sustainability can go hand in hand.
Running a business is never easy, but it becomes even more challenging when you are only 20. Juggling a day job at a local coffee shop, her family life, and her passion for fashion is no mean feat, but Soni makes it look effortless. Her love for fashion has been evident since a young age, and she has always been sketching and dreaming of what her brand could become. Now, those sketches have become a reality.
Flora Rosa is more than just a clothing brand; it represents Soni, her true love, and her grit. Her designs reflect her innermost being, and they have the power to touch the hearts of those who wear them.

Tell me about yourself - the things you like to do, the people you enjoy surrounding yourself with, your goals, anything that defines Soni inside and out.
In my day to day, I love to do my low intensity workouts in the morning to move my body and honestly love making breakfasts as well. Honestly almost my whole life just revolves around fashion, clothes, and my brand: I am very passionate about what I do! So definetly just working on my stuff, sewing, creating, drawing etc. If I want to get out of the house, I love to go get a coffee from my local coffee shop which I also work part time at. Other than that, I love spending time with my family and boyfriend and keeping the people I love close to me.
At what age did your interest peak in fashion and what helped you develop your art, whether it was sewing classes or YouTube videos, how did you really start this journey?
I’d say I’ve always been interested in fashion ever since I was a little girl. As far back as I can remember, I would always reconstruct clothes. I didn’t really get into sewing though until I was 17, I think, although I do remember mentioning it when I was about 15 that I wanted to make clothes and have a brand. I think what really helped me start this journey was finding an outlet to really express who I am and what I wanted to become after struggling with mental health all throughout my early teen years. I just wanted and needed to build something for myself in order to transform the hardships I had dealt with for so long. I did this by creating my clothing with meaning and love. Then came along my audience which really pushed me. I just really love and appreciate everyone who has supported me through this journey, it truly means the world to me!
Where do you draw inspiration from? Not only the clothes you design but daily. What motivates you in the morning and allows you to operate this company at such a young age?
Most of my inspiration comes from my soul! The gardens, beaches, my love for the sunshine, etc. just everyday life. The people I see, the movies I watch, and even my followers really inspire me! I also love Pinterest.
The thing that really motivates me in a great way is actually seeing a design in my head and wanting to make it, or if I have a more challenging piece, I like to think it over until I’ve got it figured out. Other than that my customers drive and push me to really get things done. I’ve learned so much through this so far and it’s truly a blessing I love and cherish everyday. I think running the whole company thing at a young age is definitely stressful but it’s so worth it! I’ve gained so much, met so many beautiful people and honestly, I just love what I do and it’s fun! I think learning from your experiences and doing what you love while just having fun with it really teaches you the most.
Lastly, what goals do you have for the company?
I honestly like to keep my goals close to myself because I feel more intuitive towards them in that way. But definitely just to keep growing and to just find ways to spread the love I have through my brands and what I do!
